Milk is one of the most common articles of food throughout the world. It occupies a unique position in the maintenance of health and healing diseases. It is considered as “Nature’s most nearly perfect food.” The milk of animals has been used by mankind from time immemorial. The milk of cow, buffalo and goat is generally used. In certain places, however, milk of sheep and mare is also used. Cow’s milk contains almost twice as much protein as human milk, but less sugar. Buffalo’s milk contains fatter than cow’s milk.

The organic salts and water begin to be absorbed immediately, while the solid matters are passed on to the intestines where the fat is quickly absorbed by the lacteals.
